Dynamiq GTT-- The Porsche-Designed Super-Yacht

The Dynamiq GTT is an all-aluminum yacht-- 115-ft in length-- powered by two enormous hybrid engines that produce a top speed of 21 knots at exceptionally low fuel consumption rates. Two MAN V-12 diesel engines are paired to two 20.8 kW electric motors whose combined efforts produce over 12,000 horsepower. The GTT 115 uses Fortjes pods for propulsion, rather than a traditional shaft and propeller system. The maximum cruising range is 3,400 nautical miles—enough to get you from one end of the pacific to the other.

The interior of this beautiful sea machine is laden with luxury. Luxury in the sense of real quality materials and signature designs that only a Porsche designer could produce. Understated marble counters and Minotti furniture are elegantly strewn about the cabin. The dining areas and bedrooms emanate a coziness that you would never expect a boat to capture. The rooms feature decorative aluminum and wooden slats that were inspired by the dashboard of the Porsche Mission E. The 7 foot ceilings and huge windows portray the openness of the sea, but are met with beautiful and subtle comforts for a perfectly serene yacht atmosphere.

“Taking the spirit of high-performance sports car styling to the high seas, the Dynamiq GTT 115 is designed to appeal to car lovers and forward-thinking yacht owners who appreciate the advantages of speed, style, and our philosophy of intelligent performance,” Studio F. A. Porsche CEO Roland Heiler said in a statement. “Our goal was to create a design that not only looks good, but one that surprises and pleases its owner every day,” says Heiler. “We also wanted the Porsche elements to be so subtle that anyone coming aboard doesn’t just see them at first glance.”

They plan to produce seven of these super yachts, with a price tag starting at 16 million.

Cops in Porsche's

More Police officers should be driving sports cars. Not only do our boys in blue deserve to ride confidently though the streets, but they additionally could use a little help bridging the gap between themselves and the average youth. Teenagers, some of the riskiest drivers on the road at any given time, are attracted to anything they deem as cool and are still malleable enough to be swayed by a figure of authority. If more cops had apt opportunity to reach the youth of their community, the streets would most definitely be a safer place for everyone.

Donated to the Norfolk Constabulary by the Lind Trust, a charity that supports the development of youths in Norwich and Norfolk in the United Kingdom, the GT4 is a perfect segway for the police department. It will be used to help the public engage with the police about road safety—and in particular, to grab the attention of young drivers.

In a press release, the department said this:

Young drivers are disproportionately represented in fatal and serious collision statistics; in Norfolk over the last five years 61 young drivers have lost their lives while 504 suffered serious injury.

Chief Constable Simon Bailey said: “Engagement and education are vital elements of the work on road safety undertaken by roads policing officers. I’m confident the use of the Porsche will help break down barriers and enable officers to speak with young drivers and provide road safety advice.”

He added: “The GT4 will certainly attract a lot of attention – but that’s the whole idea. We hope the car will act as a conversation starter, which gives us the opportunity to engage with people, but more importantly those hard-to-reach groups like young drivers, and offer practical advice as well as describing what can happen when things go wrong.”

The Norfolk police will be showcasing their GT4 in places where “car enthusiasts are known to gather,” as well as at school and colleges throughout the country in order to maximize awareness.

The Legacy of the Type 64

The Porsche 64 is considered by many to be the first automobile produced by Porsche as a company. Many of the parts used to make it, however, came from the Type-60 VW Beetle, which is why some purists may be inclined to call it a product of Volkswagen and likewise consider the 356 to be Porsches first. Regardless, the 64 is acknowledged as the “original Porsche”, and the “great-grandfather” of all Porsches to follow.

The body design was made by the Porsche Büro after wind tunnel tests for a planned V10 sports car that never came into existence, the Type 114. The Porsche 64s body may have been constructed from parts of a Beetle, but the shape and style are so unmistakably Porsche that I can’t imagine considering it anything but. The sleek, flat body was designed to be fast, and managed to get up to a top speed of 90 mph with only 50 horsepower. The striking design was unlike anything ever seen before, and it still looks futuristic to this day.

First, there were three cars. All made by hand shaped aluminum and done by the German bodywork company Reutter. Sadly, one of the originals was destroyed early in World War II. The two remaining were used by the Porsche family, as Ferdinand Porsche was an avid lover of the iconic design.  The Porsche family eventually decided to drive just one of the remaining 64’s, and the other was stowed away.

In May of 1945, American troops discovered the one put in storage, cut the roof off and used it for joyriding for a few weeks until the engine gave up. The Porsche was inevitably scrapped. The last remaining Porsche 64, owned by Ferry Porsche, was restored by Battista Farina in 1947. It was later sold to the Austrian motorcycle racer Otto Mathé, and with it he won the Alpine Rally in 1950. The last time he drove it in a race was at the Monterey Historic Automobile Races in Monterey, California, in 1982.

The last remaining piece of the Type 64 resides in The Allure of the Automobile exhibition at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, Georgia.

Winning

What is it that makes any given car desirable? Looks are key in first impressions, but a truly appealing car goes beyond that initial attraction and makes you fall head over heels- for life.

To measure owner satisfaction as a whole, J.D. Power conducts an APEAL (Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout) Study that surveys thousands of new-vehicle buyers following the first 90 days of ownership, gathering responses to inquiries about 77 individual vehicle attributes. Using this information, the company is able to clearly determine which models/brands are the most appealing and satisfying to their owners. An attractive exterior and interior design, engaging performance, day-to-day usability, comfort, and amenities are all considered.

More than 69,000 new car owners took part in this years survey, spanning over 243 models from 33 manufacturers in 10 pertinent categories. This year, a total of 25 models receive an award for their overall appeal.

For the 13th consecutive year, Porsche dominated the survey with the highest overall APEAL index score of 884.

“The aim of our company’s actions is to have thrilled customers”, says Oliver Blume, President and CEO of Porsche AG. “The results of the J.D. Power study give us renewed confidence that we are following the right path with our strategy. It is now clear that alongside the quality of the product, it is also the level of service and communication with our customers that resonates.”

The Fastest Porsche Ever- Coming Soon

Porsches fastest and most powerful street legal 911 ever has just been unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England. Fastest ever sounds like a stretch, but 700 horsepower and a 0-60 mph time of only 2.7 seconds speak for themselves.

The interior of the 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS is endowed with sexy red Alacantara accents, black leather, and carbon fiber trim pieces. Special sport steering wheel shift paddles are also standard.

On the outside, the 911 GT2 RS wears large air intakes and outlets and a large imposing rear wing to improve its aerodynamics and down-force. The 911 GT2 RS has super wide wheels with the widest tires ever on a Porsche, and standard Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes help to keep the duo under control. The optional magnesium wheels are among the lightest ever produced for the sports car, and can help to achieve its top speed of more than 211 mph. Its titanium exhaust is among the lightest ever made by Porsche; it cuts 15 pounds from the current setup.

Powering the insanity is a 3.8-liter engine twin-turbo flat-six engine, designed like that of the engine that powers the 911 Turbo S. In the 911 GT2 RS, however, the 3.8L engine gets larger turbochargers and a new additional cooling system that sprays water on the intercoolers when the intake air temperature reaches a determined threshold.

The GT2 RS is a go-to car for owning the track, as it has exceptional dry grip thanks to its race-bred chassis with rear axle steering and Ultra High Performance tires. The stability management system is also tuned for spirited driving, but will still do you justice while cruising on the highway.

The 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS starts at $293,200, plus a $1,050 delivery fee. The GT2 RS will be arriving at dealerships in early 2018. You can easily inquire for more information/updates on the new Porsche here at our website.

The Crest

The iconic Porsche crest was created in part by the Czech engineer who originally designed the Porsche, Ferdinand Porsche, partnered with the US importer Max Hoffman in 1952. Xaver Reimspiess, the designer who created the Volkswagen logo, was the one to fine tune and finish the design of the crest. Xaver sketched a magnificent, golden crest that not only symbolized the roots of the company, but expressed the dynamism and quality of Porsche product.

The Porsche crest first appeared in late 1952 in the center of the 356 Pre-A’s steering wheel. The crest now serves as their all-encompassing logo, and can be seen on every Porsche steering wheel, nose, and wheel. The golden logo has been accentuated with stylized black antlers and red and black stripes. The central part of the logo depicts a black horse headlong, meant to be an expression of forward driven power and a connotation of the origin city. Across the application of the Stuttgart horse, the Porsche team created a clear symbol of the relations they built with the city. The crest possesses the outer shape of a coat of arms, while the overarching inscription ‘Porsche’ over the top of the logo deftly seals the strength of the image.

In contrast to the current crest, the Porsche logo on the original crest was only embossed and was not black. In addition, the red elements of the crest were actually more orange in color to reflect the Württemberg-Hohenzollern state colors. The Classic experts charged with reproducing the crest went a lot further than merely ensuring that the colors were true to the original. The crest is produced using special tools based on original drawings. As with the original, it is gold-plated and the color and enameling are meticulously applied by hand.

The traditional Porsche Crest has had to undergo extensive quality testing. This involved an alternating climate test, for example, and a stone impact simulation carried out at a ballistic firing range. All of these challenging tests were passed with flying colors, thus proving its credentials as a genuine quality product, 100 per cent "Made in Germany". This symbol, steeped in history, signals a continued long life for classic Porsche models.

Porsche Cayenne Breaks a Guinness World Record!

Porsche has broken the Guinness World Record for the heaviest aircraft pulled by a production car, beating out the old record of a 300,000 pound space shuttle towed by a Toyota Tundra.

A 385 horsepower Cayenne S Diesel towed an Airbus A380 138 feet at the Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris.  Porsche had to connect a special towing attachment to the Cayennes towbar, but aside from that the Cayenne was left in its standard production form.

Officials from Guinness and Porsche alike stood by as the little diesel SUV lugged a 628,000 pound aircraft across the lot. After they finished with the diesel, they repeated the exercise with a Cayenne Turbo S that supplies 570 horsepower with the same success.

A couple of other automakers have indeed tested their SUV’s against extreme towing challenges, but did they turn around and drive the same car back home? That’s what Richard Payne, the technician that guided the Cayenne, proceeded to do after the endeavor.

Congrats, Porsche!

Momma Needs a Neewww.... Deciduous Forest

An unusual planting campaign in Germany has led Porsche to assemble their brigade for a planting escapade. Trinkerwasserwald has been promoting deciduous growth in their forests that are primarily made up of coniferous woods. Deciduous growth is believed to generate and retain an average of 800,000 more liters of water per hectare than forests composed of coniferous trees. This has been confirmed to be the case generation after generation.

Porsche took it upon themselves to plant 5,000 deciduous trees in the forest associated with their community. These trees will be the first step towards rejuvenating their storm-damaged woodland areas and will eventually be capable of supplying an insurmountable amount of drinkable water for the community.

Michael Steiner, Member Executive Board for Research and Development at Porsche AG, says, ”The approach taken by Trinkenwasserwald is fascinating because it is as simple as it is effective” … “By having the drinking water forest in the immediate vicinity of our Development Centre, we are able to emphasize the commitment we have made to take responsibility for people, the environment, and society.”

Trinkerwasserwald acknowledges Porsche’s efforts as a partnership in the grand effort of promoting the idea of sustainability on a global scale. Both companies are putting in their efforts not only to do their part in alleviating our crippled environment, but to incite others to help make these necessary efforts.

Take heed from these corporations by making a difference within your own means- even if that simply entails planting one tree!

The Secret Porsche

There are plenty of good reasons why travel is seen as such an esteemed and worthy pursuit. With travel lies the potential to acquire an immeasurable amount of perspective and understanding just by experiencing a new city with open eyes and an open mind. The distinctions in culture between Europe and America in particular span far greater than the evident dissimilarities in culture. In Germany, for instance, jealousy and envy are both unwelcome- hence anything lavish or grandiose will provoke scorn from the community rather than admiration. On the other hand- Americans seem to possess minimal proclivity towards humble behavior and often favor ostentatious appearances.

Hence the German culture is keen on hidden gems.  Willi Thom, an exceptional car builder living in a rural German village, is one of those diamonds in the rocks. Willi has long been in the business of building Porsches as rough, fast, and light as possible. Needless to say, he does so undercover. And although Willi normally redesigns his cars in his own raw image, he was given an offer by a convincing sports car enthusiast that he couldn’t refuse. It helps that Achim Anscheidt isn’t simply another enthusiast. Achim is the driving force behind designing the most elaborate and extravagant cars in production right now- Bugattis. Ironically enough, rather than wanting something on par with his daily grind, Achim went to Willi with a quest to have a Porsche 911 cut to his personal standards of minimalism and perfection.

Over a span of two years; these two men collaborated on achieving Achims ideal 911. The progress of development could best be seen in the text messages between them, often times consisting of a photo of a custom built Porsche sent from Achim to Willi with a caption along the lines of “headlamps like this” or “a bumper like so”. These demands occasionally seemed infeasible, but any rebuttal by Willi would simply be met with “You’ll make it work”. Enigmatic demands of the like resulted in long periods of going back and forth, and forced Willi to spend inordinate amounts of time on minor quests like producing a perfectly straight bumper and an idyllically positioned shifter.

The end result is an unassuming looking pearl that weighs half of what your standard Porsche does and zips away with twice the ferocity. The interior has been stripped to the bones and appears simultaneously old fashioned and sport oriented- creating a unique sense of nostalgia and power. One might say that Bugattis head of design owning the most minimalistic and quirky Porsche is pleasantly poetic; others may see it as a fascinating oxymoron of sorts. Whether it really makes sense or not, the beauty of the novel little Porsche is undeniable, and one can only imagine the amount of pride and satisfaction that comes with it.

The One and Only Porsche 910e

Have you seen Steve McQueens 1971 film Le Mans? You may have spotted the original Porsche 910- a racecar that the company had only produced 35 specimens of. The 910 was a purpose-built race car that debuted and raced in 1966. Cars of the type placed sixth at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1967, and won the Nürburgring 1000 that year. The German company EVEX started building replicas of these rare racers in the 70s, but created only four.

The Austrian firm Kreisel Electric, a company founded by three brothers that develops electric motors for automobiles, has paired up with EVEX to employ an electric motor into one of the four 910 replicas. In the past, the company had taken on high profile projects like an electric-powered Mercedes-Benz G-Class for Arnold Schwarzenegger. Aside from

The officially dubbed 910e has been given an electric motor paired with a 53kWh lithium ion battery pack that produces an insane 490 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of instantaneous electric torque. Kreisel claims the car possesses serious speed; boasting of 0 to 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds, and has a top speed of over 186 mph.

This Porsche 910e will have a range of 217 miles, and will be capable of bidirectional charging- giving it the ability to discharge electricity as an emergency power source for a house or compatible building.

Kreisel Electric has put a lid on how many copies will be made, but the 910e is confirmed to be the first Kreisel design to be available for purchase. What sort of price could suit such an eccentric creation? A sum over $1 million.

2018 Porsche 911 GT3- Now with a Manual!

The Porsche 911 GT3 is yet another high performance version of the 911 series that’s primarily intended for racing and still legal on the streets. This 911 is named after the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile Group GT3 that it was designed to compete it.

Porsche purists and critics were taken aback and dismayed at the release of last years 911 GT3 void of a manual transmission. Porsche has promptly responded to the outcry with an updated GT3 for 2018 that features the much sought after transmission.

The 2018 911 GT3 will now feature an upgraded 4.0 L flat that generates 500 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque and features an updated valve train and a 9,000 rpm redline. The engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission specifically constructed and tuned for the GT3, or you could opt for the awaited six-speed manual that’s thankfully now available as well. The 3,000 pound two-seater accelerates from 0-60 in just 3.2 seconds and has a top track speed of 197 miles per hour.

The sleek body is as aerodynamic as ever with lightweight carbon rear wing and front fascia. The front spoiler is optimized for airflow to enhance dynamicity, and the rear end with exhaust openings and a new diffuser contribute as well.

The interior of the 911 GT3 is classically sporty. Bolstered seats are padded to hug you and keep you in total control during spirited driving and maneuvering. The Adaptive Sport Seats Plus offer an 18 way electric adjustment along with a power steering column and seat memory. Also available are Full Bucket Seats with electric height adjustment and a fixed carbon reinforced backrest.

The 911 GT3 comes equipped with the Porsche Communication Management interface that includes a navigation system and the Connect Plus Module with smart phone connectivity. This model will additionally feature the Porsche Track Precision App- enabling drivers to track, display, record, and analyze detailed driving data on their smartphone- the ultimate tool for perfecting your track driving skills and mastering the full potential of this magnificent beast.

Porsche Turismo

The Porsche Panamera has been given so many variations over the past few years, you would think that they would’ve appeased every demographic that they possibly could. Alas, they’ve given us all something to marvel at, and something appealing to a new demographic. The recently revealed Porsche Panamera Turismo is throwing everyone through a loop, Porsche fans and critics alike.

It’s a wagon! The design isn’t too crazy, considering the front of the Turismo is still distinctively Panamera. However, the rear is shaped like a sport wagon, but with a nicely lifted buttocks and a bold rear roof spoiler-the first of its kind on such a car! It’s been trimmed to minimize drag at lower speeds, and what’s more, it automatically rises to minimize lift, and when the panoramic sunroof is open it creates a third angle apt to reduce wind noise/disturbance.

The Turismo isn’t just a pivotal release for Porsche; it’s likely a catalyst within the sport/luxury class itself. It’s quite refreshing to see a car manufacturer take a definitive stride that isn’t foreshadowed by its competitor’s future concepts. The fact that it stemmed from the Porsche Panamera is something of a mystery, but a saluted one nonetheless. The vehicles have yet to be released on the roads, but dealers will be taking orders for deliveries which are expected to start at the end of 2017. For more information, or updates on the Turismo, you can find us here.

Porsche Design Book One

Porsche Design has released a laptop that rotates 360 degrees and is rivaling the Macbook Surface Book. A laptop from Porsche may sound unusual, but the Porsche Design brand has steadily become integrated into the premium device market, and they unveiled their latest initiative just this week at the Mobile Congress in Barcelona.

'The Porsche Design Book One embodies the DNA of our brand down to the tiniest detail and, as our first 2-in-1 unit, it has expanded our product portfolio by adding a new category: Porsche Design Computing,' said Jan Becker, CEO of the Porsche Design Group.

It’s worth noting the notebook’s hardware was finely done by Quanta, Intel, and Microsoft, the companies also responsible for helping develop and manufacture Amazon’s popular Fire tablets.
Porsche Design’s Book One boasts polished aluminum housing with a flawless anodized outer appearance. The Porsche Design logo below the screen is surely distinctive, yet it’s tastefully understated enough to still be aesthetic. The laptop comes with a hinge design, similar to Porsche’s approach in crafting a sports car’s transmission, allowing the laptop to rotate 360 degrees while still unhinged. The Book One’s hinge also allows the display to close onto the keyboard with any gap. There are even small rubber stoppers to the hinge so that you won’t scratch the laptop in the various modes it flips to. The hinge is sturdy even when the tablet is locked into place.

Inside, the Book One is an absolute power beast, featuring some of the newest and most powerful hardware around today. This includes Intel’s latest Core i7-7500U processor, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. This is all powered by a Li-Polymer battery that should provide up to 14 hours normal battery use, and can be fully charged in a mere two hours!

The Book One runs on Windows 10 Pro, so you can easily integrate all of your favorite programs and services and sign in to the device using Windows hello and the front-facing 5MP camera. There’s also two USB-C ports and two USB 3.0 ports.

This device will be launched in the United States this April with a price of $2,495.

2017 Porsche Macan

The 2017 Porsche Macan- a 5 seater luxury crossover SUV that sits and drives like a sports car. The Macan certainly lives up to its name- aptly derived from the Indonesian word for “tiger”- going 0-60 in just 4.6 seconds. The curvy front fascia heavily resembles its sportier siblings, and its stellar performance is superior to any of its compact crossover competitors.

The new Macan appears to be low to the ground and wide, providing a more intimate relationship with the road and a splendidly thrilling drive. A visual highlight of the Macan is the sideblades. Not only do they set a sporty accent, their design pays homage to the beloved 918 Spyder. The proportions of the doors appear narrower and the flanks seem much sleeker and sportier. The classic Porsche sports car design is particularly prominent at the rear: slender at the top, widening into broad shoulders above the rear wheels.

The interior is assured to be just as pleasing to sport car sensationalists; with enmeshing seats, a three dimensional arrangement of controls that resembles a cock-pit, and an ergonomic layout that makes using your convenience features as swift as your acceleration. The Macan now comes standard with more standard features than previous base models; including HID headlights, 8-way power front seats, Alcantara seat centers, the newest generation of Porsche’s infotainment system, a piano black interior package, a lane departure warning system, rear-view camera, and parking sensors.

The Macan now has four turbocharged engine choices starting with a 2.0-liter flat-four that produces 252 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque while achieving 20/25 mpg city/highway; whilst all other Macans are EPA rated at 17/23 mpg. The Macan comes standard with all-wheel drive and with Porsche’s impressive seven-speed twin-clutch automatic. The 7-speed PDK transmission changes gear instantaneously with no interruption in the flow of power. Whenever a particular gear is engaged, the next gear is already preselected. This uninhibited shifting results in maximum control- as well as an exceptionally pleasurable driving experience.

The Macan was developed to please any lifestyle- offering the comfort and capabilities of a sports car integrated with additional convenience and usability. As Porsche puts it, the Macan is “built for a life that refuses to be hemmed in by conventions and feels all the more authentic for it.”

The Perpetually Pleasurable Porsche 911 GTS

Porsche produces some of the finest sports cars in the world. It’s an unmatched symbol of extravagance and taste. It is perceived as the best. Fittingly, if you take a peek beyond the grandiose reputation it upholds, you will behold an flawlessly formed car with exceptional performance.

The new Porsche 911 GTS sustains its predecessor’s unnervingly perfect image. Prepare to be reeled in by smoky light lenses, 20” satin black wheels, and Alcantara suede trim in the interior. Its lavish looks are an ideal emulation of its dramatic performance. The 911 GTS goes from 0-60 in just 3.6 seconds, it’s instantaneously responsive, possesses an exhilarating roar, and it still boasts a calm and comfortable ride.

The Porsche 911 GTS is now featuring a 3.0 twin-turbo six-cylinder, resulting in a substantial increase in power and dynamicity. The drive system has two turbochargers with charge-air cooling that have been optimally adapted to the displacement and power output of the engine.  This construction minimizes the inertia of the drivetrain and provides spontaneous responsiveness. The standard seven speed manual transmission offers sport mode with dynamic rev-match function that ensures optimum engine speed and shifting reactivity.

“GTS. A sports car concept for all those who regard superlative standards as a reason for being – because, quite simply, nothing less would do.” –Porsche

The Macan

Porsche debuted their Macan SUV at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show. At first glance the Macan was visually stunning, but the real beauty lay under the surface. The 2014 Macan had impressive engine power, rapid acceleration and braking, excellent agility, and ideal steering precision. All of these attributes provide a luxurious level of comfort and everyday drivability.

The 2017 Porsche Macan is still the jewel of the Porsche SUV lineup, available in four different trim levels: the base Macan; the Macan S; the Macan GTS and the flagship Macan Turbo. The base model is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four cylinder engine that produces 252 horsepower along with 273 pound feet of torque. The Macan S, comes with a 340 horsepower 3.0 liter twin-turbo V6 engine, while the Macan GTS also comes with a 3.0 liter twin turbo V6 with a healthier 360 horsepower outout. The top-of-the-line Macan Turbo draws its motive force from a 3.6-liter twin turbo V6 that cranks out 400 horses and 406 pound feet of torque.

As you would expect the Porsche Macan’s performance is is Porsche through and through. The Macan handles exceptionally well and with ease and it feels more like a luxury sport sedan than a compact SUV, but with all-wheel-drive. The Macan opens up to a wider range of consumers to the Porsche experience.

At a base price of $47,500 the Macan is very reasonable and affordable. The 2017 Porsche Macan is ready and waiting for you in our showroom. Check out our inventory and contact us to take yours home today!

The Porsche 718 Boxster

The Porsche 718 Boxster is Porsche’s ultimate illustration of the most efficient, effective, and dynamically delightful two-seater open-topped sports car on the market.

The new 718 is the third generation of the ever popular Boxster, and it has been given a face-lift from its predecessor.  Porsche purists will instantly know that the 718 refers to the clutch of the rare but legendary racing cars that were built in the late 1950’s and early 60’s. The Boxster was originally and elegant concept car for Porsche back in 1992, and the current 718 Boxster draws its inspiration from that concept. The first production was produced in 1996 and was an instant success. Since then, each upgrade of the Boxster has brought it closer to Porsche’s 911, making it similar in terms of size, speed and price.

Porsche has gone a different route with the new 718 Boxster as well, during this mid-cycle refresh, Porsche rolled out a new turbo charged four-cylinder for the first times since the 1980’s era 944. This Porsche doesn’t lose any power, using the turbocharger to extract maximum power from a modest 2.0 liter engine. Everything the Boxster has become renowned for – snappy steering, a swift, snug hood and plenty of practicality to go with the performance.

Pricing for the 718 Boxster is under $80,000 which is substantially less than its big brother, the 911, making it very reasonable for the car that you are getting. The 718 is now available and ready for you to take home today. Check out our inventory and contact us to schedule your test drive now!

The First Porsche 911 Cabriolet can now be yours!

Over the 53 years that Porsche has been producing the 911, there have been many special edition 911 models. But there is one that is more important than the rest, while technically a Porsche 901, in 1964, Porsche produced a Cabriolet prototype convertible 18 years before the first production 911 Cabriolet.

There were 13 pre-production Porsche 901 Cabriolets that were produced in 1964, and there are only two remaining. And the very first of those produced, is now up for auction. This classic Porsche Cabriolet will roll across the auction block at RM Sotheby’s in Paris on February 8th, 2017. The auction house estimates that the Porsche will bring in between $900,000 and $1,060,000. And giving the way that other Porsche’s have been selling at auction, this could be a very conservative estimate.

The chassis which is numbered #13360, is believed to be the second oldest 901/911, and was used for the template for Porsche’s 911 Targa that debuted in 1967. When Porsche first produced this Cabriolet prototype they planned on putting it into production as it did with the 356, but following the tightening of U.S. safety legislation, they decided to go with the Targa and its iconic aluminum roll hoop. In 1982, Porsche pulled the trigger on what they started nearly 20 years prior, the 911 Cabriolet.

The pictures from the auction listing, the 901 Cabriolet is in great shape with some minor wear and tear on the interior. This particular 901 is stunning with its red finish, Fuchs alloy wheels, a wooden steering wheel and houndstooth fabric seats. And being that it’s from 1964, it is equipped with a 2.0 liter flat-six producing around 130 horsepower.

So if you are a Porsche collector and what this car, make your way to Paris in February and break out the checkbook!
