2017 Porsche 911 Carrera

Major evolutions of Porsche’s most famous model don’t come along that often which makes this latest Porsche 911 Carrera S a big deal. The 911 engine range is growing fast. The core range still offers a choice of downsized 3.4-litre in the Carrera or a 400bhp 3.8-litre in the Carrera S. The latter is amazing, capable of hitting 62mph in a 4.2 seconds and doing almost 190mph. But there are now two new performance alternatives, either a twin-turbo 3.8-litre with up to 560bhp, or a race-tuned normally aspirated 3.8-litre with 475bhp and a wailing 9,000rpm redline. Both, in their own way, are epic.

It fits perfectly. The roomier new 911 cabin is as sturdy as ever, but is also far more luxurious. There are a lot of buttons on the Carrera GT-inspired centre console but the fundamentals – feel-good steering wheel, sporty yet comfortable seating – are also firmly ticked. Porsche has retained the three cowled instruments and even their old-school graphics but they are supplemented by a new digital screen. The gear lever, steering wheel and pedals are all perfectly placed.

2017 Porsche Panamera to Debut June 28

Porsche teased us yesterday with a primer for the new Panamera. Porsche's description for the video is classic Porsche and it gives us some insight on what we can expect in the new Panamera. The description reads, "For us, it was never just about horsepower. But about more ideas per horsepower. About engines that are more efficient, not bigger. About a design that follows principles, not fashion. About Sports Cars you can drive every day. This is why our engineers and designers have built the next Panamera. With the courage of a new generation. The courage to change." While we finally see what this vehicle looks like on June 28, its official unveiling will not occur until late September at the 2016 Paris Auto Show.

Porsche has always been innovating since their inception. Given the hints in the video, it is safe to assume we are expecting a more powerful vehicle with greater efficiency. We can expect to see some upgrades in technology, similar to how all the other Porsches have seen. We can also expect there to be at least some variation of the Panamera as a hybrid, as hinted in the video.

Not really sure how they can improve upon the already stellar Panamera, but we are definitely eager to see it.
