Porsche 718-ifies Cayman, Cayman S

Last year, Porsche unveiled the new 718 Boxster, borrowing from the nostalgia bin to highlight the car's new turbocharged flat-four engine. Now, those changes are coming to the Cayman, and the result is the 2017 Porsche 718 Cayman and Cayman S.

The biggest change, as with the 718 Boxster, is the introduction of two new engines. The standard 718 Cayman will come with a 2.0-liter flat-four engine, good for 300 horsepower, 280 pound-feet of torque and a 4.5-second 0-60mph time. The hotter Cayman S packs a 2.5-liter four-banger with 350 horsepower, 309 torques and a 0-60 time of 4 seconds flat.

The look of the Cayman has also gone through a change. The front sports a slimmer fascia, with new headlights and enlarged air intakes. The rear's all new, with a strong accent strip marked by a large Porsche badge, as well as new taillights. The rear wheels are a half an inch wider for improved traction and upgraded brakes to make sure you stop. There are also a wealth of performance options on tap, including Porsche Torque Vectoring and the brand's adaptive suspension system. Inside, the 718 Cayman features a new upper dashboard, new air vents and a steering wheel similar to the 918 Spyder's. Porsche's PCM touchscreen infotainment system is standard, and it can be optioned out to include navigation, Apple CarPlay, Google Earth and a Wi-Fi hotspot.

While the 718 Cayman and Cayman S are technically on sale right now, deliveries won't begin until late November. Pricing starts at $53,900 for the 718 Cayman, and $66,300 for the 718 Cayman S.

The Redesigned Porsche Panamera

The Porsche Panamera used to be Porsche’s black sheep. Being not very good looking, slow, and long-in-all-the-wrong-places.

The 2017 Porsche Panamera

They decided enough was enough it was time for a change. Now completely revamped, redesigned, and re-engineered, the 2017 Porsche Panamera with smash your eyeballs into the back of your head. Because holy hell, is it fast.

Over its history, Porsche has made cars that are absolutely stunning performance machines. And the new 2017 Panamera 4S, the starter performance model, is no exception, the performance spec are simply mind boggling. It packs a 2.9 liter V6, with two small but potent, mid-mounted turbochargers, producing 440 horsepower and 405 ft-lbs of torque. Pulling out a mind boggling, zero to 60 miles per hour in 4.0 seconds. That is nearly supercar quick by any measure, but it doesn’t stop there.

Redesigned Interior

The inside is also completely redesigned. Say goodbye to buttons and most of the gauges. Physical buttons in high end cars are becoming a thing of the past. The new Panamera’s Advanced Cockpit cleans up the interior with touch-sensitive controls for Driver and passengers, front and rear. The only physical gauge is a tachometer that invokes memories of the classic 365. Instead, the tach, is flanked by two 7-inch LCD screens and a large 12-inch screen in the radio console area.

Porsche Builds the Panamera in Germany and we would suggest, if possible, you take delivery in Europe. Because you can watch your car get built, visit the attached museum, and take your Panamera out unto the ultra-sweet Porsche racetrack.

We can’t wait for the Panamera to hit our showroom floor this fall. Until then, check out our other great Porsches or contact us to order yours today!
